Rubba Rubba was conceived as a found footage project.  As I trimmed the content to concentrate on a particular word that was repeated throughout the film, a foreign language appeared.  The word “rubber” began to lose its meaning.  It allowed the viewer to see less the implications of this period piece and more the playfulness of seeing old politics in a new vein.
