Wrong Answer: Examining Stakeholder Voices in High Stakes Testing
What's race got to do with high stakes testing?
Bibiana Medkova, MFA candidate in the Department of Art, is doing Lighting Design for this play by Darius Taylor. What would you change about standardized testing to make it better for all? Wrong Answer: Examining Stakeholder Voices in High Stakes Testing is an art-based intervention that highlights the challenges with testing in the black and brown communities who all too often fall victim to detrimental outcomes for being at the lower end of the educational achievement gap. Join them in a theater experience that reimagines current testing practices and develops action steps to incite equitable change in society.

"As If" - BFA Thesis Show
Jin Zheng
Artist statement: "Based on the photo, the painting depicts the childhood me in a certain reality. However, beyond the reality, I present an optimistic fantasy for the little girl in the picture. My painting is a suppositional way to fulfill and demonstrate a childlike fantasy. The idea is to bring out the possible goodness and joy of the scene. The sculpture is my solution to incomplete memories of my childhood. They are baby-size statues of four hybrid pieces of animal features on the human body. They represent good personalities and qualities I can recall from my youth. The archetype of the chosen animals are based on fables and folk tales I learned
when I was young."
