Leadership labs are a part of the ROTC curriculum and take place every Wednesday (at UMass; Thursday at Western New England College) during the semester; they usually last for two hours a session. Leadership Labs are an opportunity for Cadets to apply classroom lessons to practical hands on training, usually in an outdoor environment.
Lab topics normally focus on Army tactical training, but also include subjects such as military customs and courtesies, land navigation, basic tactics, first aid, and communications. Less obvious topics may include delivering orders to a unit (public speaking) or drill and ceremonies.
Whatever the day’s lesson, it is sure to challenge and enrich the individual Cadet and better prepare him or her for their future.
