Maya Lin to Lecture on March 11

As part of the UMass Amherst Architecture + Design/Five College Architectural Studies Spring 2014 Lectuer Series, Maya Lin will speak as the 11th Annual Miller Lecturer in Art and Art History.  Maya Lin is the world-renowned architect of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington.  Through a careful balance between art and architecture, her work addresses how we relate and respond to the environment, and creates systematic ordering of history, language and time.The lecture will take place on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 7:30pm in the Weinstein Auditorium in Wright Hall on the Smith College campus in Northampton, MA.  A Smith College map can be found here.  There is limited seating in Weinstein-overflow seating with simulcast available as needed.  Doors open to Weinstein at 7pm (early arrival encouraged).This event is sponsored by the Smith College Museum of Art, the Valley Advocate, WAMC, and NEPR.  The lecture is free and open to all.
