Joseph Krupczynski to speak at Creative Placemaking Symposium

On Friday, September 27, 2013, A+D Faculty member, Joseph Krupczynski will present on the Envision Depot Square Holyoke project.

As the return of passenger train service is planned for Depot Square in Holyoke, the Envision Depot Square Holyoke project, which was designed with Krupczynski's graduate students, creatively explored the area's future by engaging a wide array of Holyoke residents.  Through a block party, with "pop-up" installations, and three public dialogues, the project offered opportunities to plan for the future, while also providing inclusive contexts to reflect on the past and celebrate the present.

The symposium, entitled, Landscape Architecture, Tactical Urbanism, Public Art, Pop-up Parks: The Power of Design to Transform our Neighborhoods, will be held from 9am to 5pm at the Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center in Holyoke, MA.

The symposium is free, but registration is encouraged. Please click here to register.
