Historic Preservation Enrollment Now Open

Enrollment has begun for the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Hancock Shaker Village Master of Science in Design and Master of Science in Historic Preservation 2014 Winter/Spring Session.

Those interested are encouraged to sign up for the full program or for individual elective courses.

Two Hancock Shaker Village internships or fellowships with stipend are available for fully enrolled students.

The Architecture+Design program welcomes practitioners, historic commission members, and anyone with an interest in preservation to consider our Historic Preservation classes, which include:

  • Researching Historic Structures
  • Building Conservation
  • Social History of New England Architecture
  • Cultural Resource Management
  • Architectural Materials Testing
  • Classes are offered Fridays at UMass Amherst and Saturdays at Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield.  Coming dates are: January 24, 25; February 7, 8; February 21, 22; March 7, 8; March 28, 29; April 11, 12; April 25, 26; and May 2, 3.  Please write to Max Page or call (413-219-7633) if you’d like to discuss the courses, enrollment or the Master’s programs in Historic Preservation and Design.
