Fish Farm Meeting
JUNE 25, Wednesday – 7 pm
A meeting for those interested in finfish aquaculture at Four Star Farms, Northfield MA
This is an opportunity to network with other growers and to meet the new Aquaculture Coordinator for Massachusetts.
It is also an opportunity to tour a unique aquaculture system. The L’Etoile’s have made great progress in largemouth bass spawning.
This year, their fish spawned fish INDOORS and spawning occurred WEEKS ahead of fish held outdoors.
Here is our proposed agenda:
- Tour of Four Star Farms Largemouth Bass Spawning Facility
- Gene and Nathan L'Etoile, our hosts
- Introduction of Sean Bowen, Aquaculture Coordinator for Massachusetts
- Comments by Sean Bowen
- Massachusetts Aquaculture Association - current MAA projects
- Discussion led by Reagan Ellis, Finfish President, MAA
- A proposed marketing survey: opportunities in finfish culture
- Discussion led by Craig Hollingsworth, UMass Aquaculture Program
