Deerfield and the
Connecticut River Valley History
- Time is a very important concept for
archaeologists, and yet we don't often ask questions about different ways of

located)--coming soon!
- The Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Association (PVMA),
founded in the late 19th century, is one of the two museums in Deerfield, and
houses many interesting artifacts.

some great examples of material culture.
- The most commemorated historical event in the
village of Deerfield is the raid of 1704. For an excellent timeline and
accounts of this event,

- The Frary House/Barnard Tavern is operated as a
house museum by Historic Deerfield, Inc., along with twelve other houses on
the street. HD is also our partner in the 2005 summer archaeological field
