Guidelines for Film ReviewersIn the interest of economizing on space which is limited in the journal, the ASR asks that reviews of individual films do not exceed 600 words in length. We shall however determine the appropriate length of more voluminous review articles or reviews of multiple films in consultation with the reviewer. Please include all biographical and other vital information about the film at the head of the review in the following order: Filmmaker, title, Country/Countries of the film's production, the year of its release, its distributors and their address, its format, length, and price (If price is not given, please state "No price reported")

Please avoid footnotes or endnotes and references. Review essays may include occasional notes, but please be parsimonious; in such cases do not use footnote programs but type notes in at the end manually. Include page references for all quotations. When making parenthetical citations, please include publisher and date of publication. The ASR encourages you to make your reviews as lively, stimulating, and provocative as possible.
