Action: Sign up For Spring Advocacy
Goal: Contact 100% of Massachusetts State Legislators to fully fund the University's FY 2002 budget request
Deadline: February 15, 2001
Background: Advance planning lets us deploy our volunteers more effectively. Tell us which of the following you plan to do:
- Visit your MA state Representative and Senator during their in-district office hours or in the State House. You are the reason UMass will become a priority for your legislators. Check your local newspaper for district office hour times and locations.
- Call or write your MA state Representative and Senator. Legislators cannot ignore your letters and telephone calls. New constituent contact is noted, especially if you are a registered voter. If you care about UMass and have never contacted your legislators, now is the time.
Last year Ambassadors reached 45% of Massachusetts State Representatives and 85% of the State Senators. Let's build on our success and reach 100% of legislators this year.
