Account Management Creation

There are many types of accounts used on the network of UMASS.

Account Types:

  • NetID: Also known as your IT account or Spire account. Grants access to a variety of tools from downloads to software activations, HR Direct, TimeTracker, Mobius, PeopleSoft, and more.
  • AD Account: Your Active Directory (AD) Account grants access to the computer log-in, VPN, Exchange E-Mail (i.e. Outlook) and remote desktop access. Your AD Account username should be the same as your NetID for most users.
  • Auxiliary Account: Access to FoodPro
  • Kronos
  • TimeKeeper

A&F User Support Services manages AD and Auxiliary Accounts. IT Manages your NetID.

AD Accounts can only be created after you have a NetID account.
