Our arts management and arts entrepreneurship students are always busy - and the summer is no different. We asked our on-campus students what they were up to this summer - here is what a few of them had to say:
Adam Stark (Music Business and Production) "I'm playing synthesizer with Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps, spending 3 months rehearsing, performing, competing, and touring the United States.”
Christian Appia (Sustainable Community Development): “My personal business Audacia Clothing Co. Will be involved in Boston Fashion Week on May 18th, where I will have 3 models walking to showcase some of my graphic designs and clothing that I’ve created this past month.”
Emma Adler (Music Performance): "I will be working the box office at Shakespeare and Company in Lenox, Mass and performing on the streets of the Berkshires with my clarinet!"
Emma Hodges (History): "I am graduating this spring. For the summer, I will interning with Mystic Seaport and then job hunting for a history museum job in the fall.
Jessica Dimmock (English and Theater): "My main job this summer will be working at the Middlesex School Summer Arts camp in Concord, MA as a counselor. There, I will be directing a show and choreographing another as well as teaching classes such as Intro to Acapella, Stage Combat, and Show Choir. In addition, I will also be umpiring softball games, working the register at Revolutionary Concord, and babysitting. Finally, in August, I am going on a faculty-lead study abroad program to the Edinburgh Theater Fringe Festival with the UMass English department.”
Melanie Soter (Art History): "I will be interning with Griffin Museum of Photography and Pucker Gallery.At the Griffin Museum, I will be learning about all aspects of running the museum while at Pucker Gallery I will learn the details that go into managing a for-profit diverse art gallery"
