Alumni Success Story: Ronni Reich, New York State Council on the Arts

Congratulations to AES Alum Ronni Reich! Ronni was recently hired as New York State Council on the Arts’ (NYSCA) Director of Public Information, overseeing NYSCA’s communications and public relations, as well as marketing materials and social media. Ronni has completed four courses with AES, and is pursuing her Professional Certificate in Arts Management.

“Since starting at NYSCA, I have applied the knowledge I gained through the Arts Extension Service courses on a daily basis. In particular, the Arts Marketing course has strengthened my background in communications, prepared me to craft a public information strategy plan, and enabled me to play an informed role in website design,” says Ronni. “When I interviewed for the job, I was asked about my experience reading and analyzing budgets, and I was able to cite the work I had done in the Financial Management course. I have been enthusiastically recommending the program and look forward to continuing in the fall!”

Ronni comes to NYSCA directly from MacAndrews & Forbes, where she served as Special Projects Manager, Cultural Affairs. Ronni was on the features staff for The Star-Ledger, New Jersey’s largest newspaper. As the classical music, opera and theater critic, she reviewed productions in New York and New Jersey and wrote a Sunday feature column. Ronni began her journalism career as a regular contributor of classical music reviews to the Washington Post, a pursuit she began while working towards her Bachelor of Music in vocal performance at the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University. She went on to receive her Masters of Science from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

Congratulations Ronni!
