Arts Management Non-credit Certificate Programs

Are you employed in a cultural organization and need to enhance your skills? Are you passionate about the arts and want to explore the profession of arts management?

Our Certificate students have gone on to run arts organizations, specialize as grant writers, and have become staff members at nationally-recognized foundations.  Some of our students have created jobs for themselves by starting their own non-profit arts organizations, others have applied their new skills to their artist businesses.  Many students have come to us while working in creative positions and have remained at, or advanced within, the same organization, but even in financially tough times, they are more confident in their ability to run a creative and prosperous institution.

Since 1996, the Arts Extension Service at the University of Massachusetts Amherst has served countless arts professionals with its Certificates in Arts Management. Through the noncredit Certificate program, you will broaden your learning and stretch yourself to become an effective arts manager and organizational leader. Whether you are a seasoned professional looking to deepen your knowledge base or are just starting out in the field, our certificate program is for you.

Select from two Certificate Options:

To earn your Professional Certificate in Arts Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst Arts Extension Service, successfully complete eight online courses. To earn your Core Certificate in Arts Management, successfully complete four online courses.
