- The 50 Best Inventions of 2009 Professor Derek Lovley and his team of researchers at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst have engineered a strain of Geobacter that's eight times as efficient as other strains at producing power.
- Soy May Lower Risk Of Diabetes, Study Says Based on research conducted at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, it appears that adding soy to one’s diet may result in a reduced risk of developing diabetes and in improved insulin sensitivity.
- Isenberg School researchers advise Food Bank on supply chain management During a nine-month project, Senay Solak, assistant professor of Operations Management, and MBA candidate Justin Fisher used supply chain modeling to develop distribution alternatives for the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts and the 191 agencies it serves.
- Forbes develops system to 'detonate' cancer-killing TRAIL inside tumors on command The treatment improved the 30-day survival time of mice with mammary tumors from zero to 100 percent.
