A complete application includes the following material:
- A complete Common Application (including the UMass questions)
Official high school transcript (grades 9 -11)
First-term senior grades should be sent as soon as possible. The transcript must come from your high school—we prefer it be sent through the Common Application. It can also be submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. If it needs to be mailed the address is:
UMass Amherst Undergraduate Admissions Office
37 Mather Drive
Amherst, MA 01003
- Official transcripts for all completed college coursework. Photocopies, student copies, or emailed electronic college transcripts are not acceptable.
- SAT I and/or ACT scores sent electronically by the testing agency.* Students must take either the SAT or ACT. UMass Amherst neither requires nor recommends the optional SAT essay. All scores must be sent directly from the testing agency. The UMass Amherst SAT code is 3917 and the ACT code is 1924. We are unable to process “rush” test score reports. Test scores are not required for students who have been out of high school for three or more years.
- Letter of Recommendation
- Application fee of $80
- *Learning-disabled Massachusetts residents who submit documentation of disability are eligible for exemption from the standardized test score requirement. Diagnostic testing or the front page of the 504 or IEP is required to confirm that the student has a diagnosed learning disability.
