What Happens to My AP Credits?

UMass Amherst grants advanced standing and/or credit for the College Board AP exams, but these credits will vary depending upon scores and subject matter.

Graduating high school seniors with AP credits are admitted as Freshmen with advanced standing. More information is available at the Advanced Standing section.

FYI: AP credits may apply to graduation requirements, but they do not count toward your residence requirements (that is, up to 75 transfer credits can apply to graduation requirements; 45 residence credits must be earned through UMass Amherst; 60 credits if graduating with honors). In addition, no grade is granted for AP credits.
