Gather and Send Required Documents

A Checklist of Everything You Need for Freshman Admission

  • Completed UMass Amherst application (with personal statement and any other attached materials)
  • Official SAT-I or ACT Score
  • High school transcript (an official copy including your first term senior year grades)
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Verification of english language proficiency (for non-native speakers of english)

  • Optional Achievement Test scores

If you use the paper application, submit it and your fee to your guidance counselor, who will enclose your official transcript and letters of recommendation.

If you’re applying online, fill out the application carefully. You will note your standardized test dates on the application and you can pay online with a credit card, or mail a check or money order. After you press the Submit button, an Acknowledgement page will appear. Print a copy of the Acknowledgement page and submit it to your guidance counselor, who will enclose your official transcript and letters of recommendation.
