10 Steps to UMass Amherst
(For Prospective Freshmen)

  8. Arrange portfolio reviews and auditions: For Art, Music, and Dance Majors
  9. Meet the deadlines: Freshman, Stockbridge, transfer, and financial aid
  10. Apply for financial aid: Negotiating the process

Will I Need an Admissions Interview at UMass Amherst?

UMass Amherst does not offer evaluative interviews for admissions. That is, there are no interviews as part of the application process. However, you can arrange an informative interview with an admissions representative. These are highly trained students who can answer your questions and address your concerns. These interviews can be arranged on weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. by calling the Visitors Center at 413-545-0306.
