Get an Application
UMass Amherst gives you several ways to get an application, from snail mail to applying online.
Once you have chosen the application you want to use, read the instructions carefully. Please indicate both a first and second choice for your academic major.
The Application Itself
The following applications can be used for FRESHMAN or TRANSFER applications to any of UMass Amherst’s undergraduate four-year bachelor’s degree programs or to the two-year associate’s degree programs in the Stockbridge School.

Apply directly online using our secure server.
Note to Netscape users: You will have to click ”Next“ on each of the pop-up Site Certificate Windows as they appear and then click ”Finish“ to gain access to the UMass Amherst online undergraduate application. This allows you a secure connection to the site.

Apply online using the Common Application.
The Common Application is a not-for-profit organization that serves students and member institutions by providing an admission application - online and in print - that students may submit to any of its nearly 300 members including UMass Amherst.

Re-entering Student
If you were previously enrolled at the University, contact the Registrar's Office for a readmission application: 413-545-0555. Students requesting readmission to Stockbridge must contact the Stockbridge School for a readmission application: 413-545-2222.
Post-Graduate Second Bachelor’s Degree Student
If you plan to earn a post-graduate second bachelor’s degree, contact the Undergraduate Admissions Office for information and a Post-Graduate Second Bachelor's Degree application: 413-545-0222.
University Without Walls
