The Adelphi Today

The Adelphi Today:  Introduction

The Adelphi Today page brings the reader full circle.  It is divided into five sections, four dealing with an aspect of the London theatre scene as it is today.  These professional websites are continually updated and should provide the reader with the latest information on the Adelphi and its sister houses.

The first link is to the Adelphi Home page, which gives a short history and advertises the current production.  The Adelphi is only one of Andrew Lloyd Weber’s six commercial theatres, which constitute his Really Useful Theatres Group.  News about all his houses can be accessed from this page.

WhatsOnStage.com and West End Theatre are sources for buying tickets, but they contain theatre news, guides, and reviews of contemporary productions.

London Theatre Guide is the first dedicated London Theatre guide on the web.

The final link is to interesting sites exploring the history of the Adelphi.

At the bottom of the page, on the left, is a changing display of graphics found in the Calendar.  To the right, is a marquee with titles of Adelphi productions and the names of the principal performers.

We complete our trip from the humble begining of a minor theatre in 1806 to major theatre power house of today ...

Adelphi Theatre Home Page

Andrew Lloyd Webber has been a theatre owner since 1983 and now owns six London theatres: the Adelphi (in association with Nederlander International Limited), London Palladium, Drury Lane, New London, Her Majesty’s and the Cambridge.

The Adelphi home page shows the theatre as it was in September 2010.  A curious passer-by in a yellow sweater learns the current production is Love Never Dies.
