SCENE FROM "THE CASTLES OF THE SEVEN PASSIONS."
The illustration shows a scene from the successful new drama of "The Castles
of the Seven Passions:" it may be termed the tableau of Avarice, where Mr. Keeley
(Canuche) and Mrs. Keeley (Regaillette) are tempted into the Lion's mouth
in quest of Gold and Silver in stupendous vases, whence leap forth the pair of demons
shown in our Engraving. The terror of the pair of mortals is admirably depicted:--in
the expression of this terror--mixed up with the ludicrous--the Keeleys have
no
parallel upon the stage.
